Singapore Airlines (SIA) has once again cemented its reputation as one of the world’s leading carriers, securing third place in the 2026 rankings for the Best Full-Service Airlines globally.

Doha-based Qatar Airways claimed the top spot, followed by Hong Kong’s Cathay Pacific in second place. The rankings were published on Wednesday by an international aviation review platform that evaluates airlines based on safety, in-flight service, and overall passenger experience.

SIA also maintained its leading position for the World's Best First Class in 2026. Its celebrated in-flight dining programme, Book the Cook, was highlighted as a key feature that continues to distinguish the airline from competitors.

Meanwhile, SIA’s low-cost subsidiary Scoot rose to fifth place in the 2026 list of Best Low-Cost Airlines, improving from eighth place last year. Hong Kong’s HK Express topped the budget airline category, followed by Australia’s Jetstar and Malaysia’s AirAsia Group in second and third place respectively.

The ranking methodology focuses on measurable onboard criteria, including cabin comfort, in-flight service, and product quality, rather than relying on public votes or popularity polls. According to the report, both full-service and budget airlines are evaluated on their ability to deliver consistent passenger satisfaction and high standards of travel experience.

For Singapore travellers, the rankings reinforce the city-state’s strong aviation standing, reflecting not only SIA’s luxury offerings but also Scoot’s growing appeal in the budget travel segment. With these recognitions, Singapore Airlines continues to set benchmarks for global air travel, while Scoot demonstrates that value and quality can go hand in hand for cost-conscious passengers.
